(Spencer)– A complaint and subsequent investigation has resulted in a 71-year-old Spencer man being charged with lascivious acts against a minor.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says several minor boys were hired by the suspect, identified as Donald Zieman, as farm help and to do some yard work from May through August of this year.
According to the criminal complaint, the minors were allegedly solicited and offered cash for sexual favors and acts and were provided alcohol, cigarettes and were asked to view child pornography along with videos and material downloaded from the internet.
Based on the complaint, deputies obtained and executed a search warrant on Zieman’s residence at 1709 Country Club Lane in Spencer.
It resulted in authorities seizing a number of items, including a laptop computer, a desktop computer, several videos, explicit photos and several flash drives.
Zieman was arrested on charges of lascivious acts with a child…a class “C” felony and three aggravated misdemeanor charges of lascivious acts with a minor.
Clay county authorities say the investigation continues and that additional charges are pending.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office is being assisted in its investigation by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation and the Clay County Attorney’s Office.
