(Spirit Lake)– An incident late Monday night and early Tuesday morning in Spirit Lake has landed a Spencer man in jail on a meth charge.
42-year-old Ricky Wayne Nissen of Spencer was charged with possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine.
Spirit Lake police say it started when a sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop a vehicle east of Milford for a traffic violation. The driver eluded the deputy. Chief Jon Martyr says Spirit Lake police found the vehicle shortly after midnight parked at a residence in the 600 block of 19th street. That’s where officers made contact with Nissen, who was booked into the Dickinson county jail.
Spirit Lake police were assisted by the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office, the Iowa State Patrol and the Arnolds Park Police Department.
