(Spirit Lake)– Drug charges were filed against a Spencer man this past weekend after Spirit Lake police caught up with him at a lakes area campground.
Police say they responded to a call at campsite 24 at the Marble Beach Campground on Big Spirit Lake around 2:20 a.m. Friday. That’s where they made contact with a man identified as 32-year-old James Kennaway of Spencer.
Police say they discovered about an ounce of marijuana, ecstasy tablets and paraphernalia during a subsequent investigation.
Kennaway was charged with possession of a schedule one controlled substance…a class “C” felony; possession of marijuana with intent to deliver…a class “D” felony; and possession of drug paraphernalia…a simple misdemeanor.
He was taken into custody and booked into the Dickinson county jail.
