Spencer Man Arrested On Burglary Charges

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– A Spencer man is facing felony burglary charges after a search of his apartment Thursday turned up stolen items.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant shortly after noon Thursday at 1320 2nd Avenue East in Spencer, the residence of 27-year-old Christian Slawson. Slawson was wanted in Clay county on second degree theft charges related to the theft of a vehicle last month. He was also wanted in Dickinson and Emmet counties.

During the search, deputies found several items that were reported stolen during several burglaries within the last few weeks, valued at over three-thousand dollars. Additional items, including burglary tools, were recovered.

Deputies also found several pieces of drug paraphernalia and quantities of methamphetamine.

Slawson was arrested on charges of second degree theft, possession of stolen property, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Additional charges are expected as the evidence is evaluated, and other agencies have a chance to review the seized property.

The investigation continues and more arrests are expected. Anyone with information related to the investigation is asked to contact the Clay County Sheriff’s Office at 262-3221.
