(Storm Lake)– A Spencer man has been arrested on charges that he sexually assaulted a young Storm Lake girl over the weekend.
Just after 3:00 a.m. Sunday Storm Lake police say they responded to a report of a sexual assault at a residence. The occupants told officers that a man who was staying there overnight had gone into the room of a nine-year-old girl and allegedly sexually assaulted her. After the man left the room, the girl went and told her mother about the alleged incident. When police arrived, the man, 49-year-old Enrique Gonzales of Spencer, was still in the house sleeping on the couch.
Police arrested Gonzales and charged him with indecent contact with a child…an aggravated misdemeanor. He was booked into the Buena Vista county jail on 6,500-dollars bond.
