(Spencer)– The Vice President of Human Resources at Spencer Hospital has submitted his resignation.
Mike Hansen has been the VP of Human Resources and Support Services at the hospital since September of 2000. He has accepted the CEO position at the Pender Community Hospital in Pender, Nebraska.
Besides his oversight of the Human Resources Department, Hansen has also served as Plant Operations Manager at Spencer Hospital. He was responsible for overseeing the construction of the Warner Dialysis Center in Spirit Lake and the recently-completed Surgery Center Expansion in Spencer.
Hansen’s last day with Spencer Hospital will be August 5th. A search for his replacement will begin in the near future.
On the opposite side of the spectrum, Spencer Hospital has hired a new Vice President of Patient Care Services.
Most people recognize Brenda Tiefenthaler as the Director of the Abben Cancer Center at Spencer Hospital. She will now fill the role of VP of Patient Care Services.
Tiefenthaler has been with Spencer Hospital since 2000. She was named Director of the Abben Cancer Center in 2001.
Tiefenthaler will officially assume her new role August 15th; however she already has started working with the interim VP of Patient Care–Dee Hoger–to transition her into her new position.
