(Spencer)– Spencer fire crews were called Wednesday to a fire at Graham Tire in Spencer.
Firefighters were called to the business’ retread facility in the 300 block of west 18th Street a little after 11:30 a.m.
Assistant State Fire Marshall David Schipper says a large amount of smoke was coming from a tire curating vessel. Schipper says power to the machine was shut off and it was closed up to cut off the supply of oxygen in order to suffocate the fire.
Firefighters are back on the scene today (Thurs.) opening up the machine and removing the charred tires.
No injuries were reported.
Smoke damage was reported throughout the building.
