(Spencer)– The Spencer city council has approved plans and specs for the fire station expansion project.
The council held a public hearing on the project at Monday’s meeting. After hearing no objections, they voted unanimously to approved the plans and specs and estimated cost of the project, which is 1.7 million dollars.
Ed Storm of the F-E-H Architectural Firm out of Sioux City told the council the new construction part of the project is slated for completion this coming December 31st. Storm says the department would then move from the existing facility into the expansion, to allow for remodeling to get underway on that part of the building. The entire project is slated for completion March 31st, 2006.
Storm says a pre-bid meeting for contractors is set 10:00 a.m. March 7th to give them a chance to review the plans before submitting bids March 17th.
