(Des Moines)– Some northwest Iowa school districts will receive a share of $600,000 in competitive grants through the Iowa Department of Education and its Credentials to Careers Grant program. Le Mars, Sibley-Ocheyedan and South O’Brien are among the 24 community school districts awarded the funding.
The grants support schools in creating or expanding secondary career and technical education programs aligned to student attainment of state-approved, industry-recognized credentials with labor market value.
The funding is made available by the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act of 2006.
