(Spirit Lake)– Charges have been filed against a Spirit Lake man when a snowmobile he was operating collided with a trailerhouse early this (Monday) morning.
Police say 24-year-old Jerry Kilts of Spirit Lake was operating a snowmobile in the area of 15th Street and Memphis Avenue when he collided with a trailer house at A & K Trailer court. The snowmobile became wedged under the back of the trailer house.
Kilts was charged with operating while intoxicated, driving while suspended, failure to maintain control and operating without consent after it was determined he did not have the owner’s permission to be operating the snowmobile.
No injuries were reported.
150-dollars in damage was estimated to the Polaris snowmobile with 500-dollars in damage to the trailer house.
Spirit Lake police were assisted by the Okoboji Police Department and the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident was reported shortly after 1:00 a.m.
