(Spirit Lake)– Spirit Lake police have released the names of 10 illegal aliens and a woman who’s a U-S citizen who were taken into custody as the result of a traffic stop Wednesday night.
They’re identified as 33-year-old Tito Rivera; 19-year-old Absalon Lopez; 22-year-old Lucio Perez; 20-year-old Rene Vazques; 22-year-old Omar Lopez; 28-year-old Jorge Vazques; 22-year-old Herman Castillo; 19-year-old Elias Lopez; 23-year-old Pedro Hernandez-Jimenez and 33-year-old Edmundo Vasquez-Lopez…all of Sibley.
A woman in the vehicle, 31-year-old Tammy Mendez-Holt…also of Sibley…is a legal U-S citizen who was also taken into custody.
The 11 subjects were transferred to the custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement and were transported to Sioux City for processing.
The 11 were in a van Spirit Lake police pulled over for a traffic violation shortly after 10:00 p.m. Wednesday.
Authorities say the case remains under investigation.
