(Milford)– A southwest Iowa man got a rude awakening as he was driving through Milford Sunday.
Police say Joel Bane of Oakland fell asleep as he was driving on Highway 71 around 1:30 p.m. Sunday. Authorities say his van veered across the highway at 11th Street and collided with a utility pole and sign. Police say it’s extremely fortunate there was no oncoming traffic at the moment or there would have been a head-on crash.
Bane wasn’t injured but the vehicle he was driving was totaled.
