Sherry has also been very active as a volunteer in the Spirit Lake Community Schools and the Spirit Lake Booster Club.
She is a charter member of the Sunrise Kiwanis Club having served as its President.
She was also singled out for her involvement with her family.
Jorgenson says she was totally surprised when the honor was bestowed upon her during Wednesday evening’s Kiwanis Christmas party. She said she was under the impression her husband Wally, long time Spirit Lake Fire Chief, was going to be presented with a special honor.
