(Spirit Lake)– A Spirit Lake teen was injured Thursday when a moped he was operating collided with a car that had slowed down in front of him to make a turn.
14-year-old Kyle Kiner of Spirit Lake was taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare with unknown injuries. No injuries were reported to the driver of the car, 66-year-old Karen Weber of Hartley.
Authorities say both Kiner and Weber were westbound on Highways nine and 71 in front of Pure Fishing when the collision took place.
Two-hundred dollars in damage was estiamted to the moped driven by Kiner; damage to the car driven by Weber was estimated at one-hundred dollars.
The mishap took place shortly before 11:00 a.m. Thursday.
