(Milford)– A Spirit Lake teen has been charged in connection with a break-in at Okoboji High School that took place in late January of this year.
Milford Police Chief Vernon Flack says 18-year-old Nicholas Forney was arrested around 11:30 p.m. February 28th and charged with burglary in the third degree…a class “D” felony; theft in the second degree…also a class “D” felony; possession of burglar tools…an aggravated misdemeanor; and criminal mischief in the fifth degree…a simple misdemeanor.
Forney is accused of using a stolen key in the early morning of January 24th to gain access to the building and to an office where a safe is kept. Several thousands of dollars in cash and checks was reported missing from the safe.
Flack says their investigation continues and more arrests are likely.
