(Spirit Lake)– Spirit Lake residents are being told to lock up their homes and vehicles after a series of recent burglaries.
Police say the residential burglaries have taken place even while the occupants were home.
Authorities say the first incident took place September 4th but wasn’t reported until 13th. Police say a resident woke up in the early morning to find an unknown male intruder in the residence. The intruder managed to get away.
The other incident was reported this past Saturday. Police say residents discovered items missing from their home when they woke up that morning.
Spirit Lake police continue to investigate the incidents. Anyone observing suspicious activity should contact authorities immediately.
And again, authorities say you should keep residences and vehicles locked…especially when you’re not around and at night.
