(Spirit Lake)– Spirit Lake residents today (Friday) are being asked to conserve as much water as possible.
Public Works Director Todd Dolphin says flows through the city’s sewer system are extremely high right now as a result of the recent heavy rains. He says the system needs a chance to catch up.
There have been reports of sewer back-ups into basements…especially in the southeast part of the city.
2.20 inches of rain fell Thursday at the KUOO studios. So far for the month of May, 5.60 inches of rain has fallen at the KUOO studios.
A flood warning is in effect for the Little Sioux River from near Milford to Spencer and Linn Grove.
