(Spirit Lake)– No injuries were reported in a house fire Tuesday evening just north of Spirit Lake.
Spirit Lake firefighters were called to the David Hagedorn residence at 803 252nd Avenue shortly after 5:30 p.m. Fire Chief Wally Jorgenson says a small fire had been burning in a bedroom, but was out when firefighters arrived. He says the house was completely filled with smoke and soot. Jorgenson says they ventilated the structure, which sustained heavy smoke damage.
Jorgenson says the Hagedorns, who had been gone, discovered the house full of smoke upon returning and called authorities.
Firefighters were on the scene about 45 minutes.
