(Spirit Lake)– A Spirit Lake city councilman wants the city’s Parks and Recreation Committee re-established.
Councilman Jerry Harbst says he’s had requests from numerous residents to bring back the committee, which was discontinued years ago due to inactivity.
Harbst says the city’s parks are in need of attention, and that the committee could play a vital role in advising the council on possible improvements.
Fellow council members were in agreement and directed city staff to draw up the necessary paperwork to re-establish the committee and spell out responsibilities. They’ll review it at their next meeting.
