(Spirit Lake)– Discussion on a request to de-annex some land that was brought into the city as part of the proposed golf course resort development was on the agenda for Tuesday’s Spirit Lake city council meeting but wound up being postponed.
Owners James and Charlene Radcliffe have filed the request, saying they want the land transferred back out of the city if the proposed development isn’t going to happen.
In a memo to the council, City Administrator Mark Stevens requested the council postpone any discussion on the matter to its August 24th meeting. Developers Alex and Marty Benskin are scheduled to be at that session. Stevens adds in the memo that the Benskins indicated to him “they may have something more substantive to report on the status of the project at the August 24th meeting.”
The council agreed to defer the discussion after learning the landowners were also okay with that.
