(Spirit Lake)– The Spirit Lake city council Tuesday awarded a bid of $114,321 for the city’s 2010 Street Improvements Project, to be carried out yet this construction season.
The bid, submitted by OMG, doing business as Tri State Asphalt, was the only bid submitted on the project. It came about six thousand dollars over the original estimate.
The projects include repair of 23rd Street between Highway 71 and Zenith Avenue north; Gary Avenue between Lake Street and Highways 9 and 71; and Ithaca Avenue between 16th Street and Highways 9 and 71.
In other business, the council set September 14th as the date for a public hearing for a proposed amendment to the city’s zoning ordinance pertaining to commercial off-street parking; and they approved a tax abatement for Courtyard Gardens.
