(Spirit Lake)– Another part of the project to build a new Dickinson county courthouse has fallen into place.
The Spirit Lake City Council Tuesday voted in favor of vacating an alley between 18th and 19th streets between Ithaca and Jackson Avenues.
The council took the action following a public hearing that drew no oral or written opposition.
The council then adopted a resolution approving a quit claim deed allowing for the vacation.
Both motions were approved three-to-nothing. Council members Jeff Thee and Jerry Harbst and Mayor Eric Nielsen were absent due to other commitments.
Action on bids for the Hill Avenue South Project was postponed to the council’s March 1st meeting.
The council also set March 23rd at 5:30 p.m. as the date and time for a public hearing on a request to own property formerly owned by Everette Eddy.
