(Spirit Lake)– Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash this (Mon.) morning at the intersection of Highways nine and 71 and Ithaca Avenue in Spirit Lake.
Police say 41-year-old Kevin Pirie of Milford was eastbound on the highway and 22-year-old Mollie Petersen of Estherville was westbound and was attempting to turn onto Ithaca Avenue when the two collided.
Both Pirie and Petersen were transported by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake. Their injuries weren’t believed to be serious.
Seven thousand dollars in damage was estimated to a 2001 Volkswagon driven by Pirie and to a 1996 Dodge Caravan Petersen was driving.
Pirie was cited for making an unsafe turn.
The mishap took place shortly before 9:30 a.m.
