(Sioux City)– A Sioux Falls man has been sentenced to 180 months in prison without parole after pleading guilty to a methamphetamine charge.
40-year-old Roy Sterling Hansen was sentenced Tuesday in U-S District Court in Sioux City.
At a plea hearing, Hansen admitted he and others distributed over 12 pounds of methamphetamine between the fall of 2000 through February 15th, 2001…most of it in Sioux Falls and small towns in northwest Iowa and southwest Minnesota.
According to court documents, a search warrant was executed on February 4th of this year at a hotel in Luverne, Minnesota where Hansen was staying. It turned up several pounds of methamphetamine and other drug-related items.
The investigation also resulted in the arrests of individuals from Sibley and Sioux Falls.
