Sioux County Crash Injures SW Mn Man

November 22, 2014

(Hull)– Authorities say alcohol may have been a contributing factor in a single-vehicle crash last Friday in Sioux county that seriously injured a southwest Minnesota man.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office says 53-year-old Robert Gustafson of Luverne, Minnesota was driving a 1991 Oldsmobile northbound on Highway 75 two miles northwest of Hull when he lost control. The vehicle went into the east ditch, traveled in to a field and crossed a creek where it struck a large tree before coming to rest.

Gustafson was taken by ambulance to the Sioux Center hospital with serious injuries. He was later transferred by air to Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls.

Deputies say the mishap, which took place shortly before 9:00 p.m. Friday, remains under investigation.
