Sibley Man Sentenced On Meth Charge

November 23, 2014

(Sioux City)– A Sibley man has been sentenced on a meth charge in U-S District Court.

34-year-old Douglas David Roth had previously pled guilty to a charge of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. He was sentenced Thursday to 132 months in prison without parole.

At a plea hearing, Roth admitted he and others distributed over 12 pounds of methamphetamine between the fall of 2000 and February 15th, 2001. Most of it was sold in the Sioux Falls area and small towns in northwest Iowa.

On February 15th of this year a search warrant was executed on a residence in Sibley where Roth and another man had been living. It turned up about two and-a-half pounds of methamphetamine, over five thousand dollars in cash and other drug-related items.

The investigation also resulted in the arrest of people from Luverne, Minnesota and Sioux Falls.
