(Des Moines)– A Spencer businessman will continue to help shape the future of economic development in Iowa.
Governor Tom Vilsack has appointed Toby Shine to a year-term on the newly-formed Iowa Economic Development Board. He was a member of the Iowa Values Fund Board for the last couple of years.
Shine is a resident of Wahpeton and President and CEO of Shine Brothers Corporation in Spencer.
As a member of the board, Shine will help oversee implementation of the Iowa Values Fund. Lawmakers this year recreated the Values Fund by earmarking 700-million dollars over the next 10 years to help attract new businesses to Iowa and to help existing businesses expand.
The new 15-member Iowa Economic Development Board will replace the former 11-member Iowa Values Fund Board and Economic Development Board.
They will hold their first official meeting July 7th in Des Moines.
