Sheldon Woman Accused Of Fraudulently Obtaining Assistance

November 23, 2014

(Sheldon)– An investigation by the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office into a report from the Northwest Iowa Regional Housing Authority has resulted in a charge being filed against a Sheldon woman.

Authorities say 45-year-old Shirley Anne Klatt was arrested today (Tuesday) and charged with fraudulent practices…a class “D” felony.

A criminal complaint alleges Klatt received rent assistance from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development after making false certification of her eligibility for the assistance.

Klatt appeared before an O’Brien county magistrate and was released on her own recognizance pending future court appearances.
