Sheldon Man Sentenced On Meth Charges

(Orange City)– A Sheldon man will spend the next 15 years behind bars for making methamphetamine.

26-year-old Stanley Lovstad of Sheldon, formerly of Algona, was sentenced Tuesday on three felonies stemming from the manufacture of methamphetamine in Sioux county.

The Northwest Iowa Drug Task Force conducted a search of Lovstad’s home back on May 1st of this year. The search turned up methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and several meth precursors.

Lovstad was sentenced to three consecutive five-year prison terms.

He had been previously convicted in 2002 for possession of pseudoephedrine and intent to manufacture meth in Kossuth county.

Lovstad will serve his time at the prison in Oakdale, Iowa.
