Sheldon Man Charged In Weekend Assault

November 22, 2014

(Sheldon)– A Sheldon man is in custody in connection with an assault early Saturday in Sheldon.

Authorities say 23-year-old Eliodor Reyes-Fabian was taken into custody around 8:15 a.m. Saturday after he allegedly assaulted a 34-year-old female at the Hills Park in Sheldon.

Authorities set up a perimeter around the scene. Reyes-Fabian was later spotted in that area by a passerby and was taken into custody a short time later in a nearby trailer park.

Reyes-Fabian was charged with assault with intent to commit sexual abuse, interference with official acts, public intoxication and trespassing.

Reyes-Fabian was booked into the O’Brien county jail in Primghar.

The Sheldon Police Department was assisted by the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office, a canine unit from the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office and members of the Sheldon Emergency Management Agency.

Authorities say the incident remains under investigation.
