(Sioux City)– Even though some major projects like the Spencer bypass have been eliminated from the Iowa Department of Transportation’s five-year plan, a number of others are still on the list.
Dakin Schultz of the D-O-T’s Sioux City office tells KUOO news they include a bridge over the Little Sioux River overflow east of Spencer, the Highway 60 corridor in Osceola and O’Brien counties, resurfacing of Highway nine in Dickinson county from the Osceola county line to Highway 86, and pavement rehabilitation on Highway 15 in Emmet county. Schultz says the Highway nine resurfacing in western Dickinson county will take place this spring.
While those projects are still alive, Schultz cautions there could be further deletions if they’re forced to make even more cuts. On the positive side, Schultz says some of the projects that were deleted could be added back if the funding is restored.
