(Spirit Lake)– Some little piggies didn’t quite make it to market this (Thurs.) afternoon.
Authorities say the driver of a semi tractor-trailer loaded the animals lost control as he rounded a curve on Highway 86 at the Iowa-Minnesota border. The semi rolled onto its side.
No injuries were reported, but some of the pigs didn’t fare too well. The Spirit Lake Fire Department was requested to go to the scene with a pumper truck to cool the porkers down until they could be loaded onto another rig.
There was no immediate word as to how many pigs were on the truck.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa State Patrol were also called to the scene.
