Second Man Sentenced In Manson Pizza Ranch Arson

(Sioux City)– Another man has been sentenced for his role in a fire December 31st, 2000 that destroyed the Pizza Ranch restaurant building in Manson.

30-year-old John Michael Ragsdale of Des Moines was sentenced to five years in prison without parole.

Ragsdale pleaded guilty on June 18th of this year to setting the fire as part of an insurance fraud scheme. Ragsdale admitted he had been hired by William Barber of Fort Dodge to set fire to the building, which contained two other businesses.

Barber, who has also pleaded guilty in the case, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.

In addition to the jail term, Ragsdale was also ordered to pay restitution of 204,519-dollars.
