Searches Result In Drug Charges Against Four Milford Residents

(Milford)– Drug charges have been filed against four Milford residents as the result of two search warrants executed earlier this week.

The first search was conducted Wednesday at apartment six at 1805 Okoboji Avenue. Police say it resulted in the arrest of 19-year-old Nolan Zebedee and 20-year-old Theresa Bertelsen. Zebedee was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and a drug tax stamp violation. Bertelsen was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance and a drug tax stamp violation. Authorities say the search resulted in the seizure of 135 grams of marijuana; one gram of methamphetamine, packaging material, smoking and snorting devices, a scale, records, electronic devices, cash and a vehicle.

The other search warrant was executed Thursday at apartment 14 at 1022 Okoboji Avenue in Milford. Arrested were 29-year-old Victor Lewis Brownfield and 25-year-old Jacob Thomas Fontenot. They were both charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance. Authorities say several smoking and snorting devices, approximately three grams of marijuana and two firearms were seized in that search.

The Milford Police Department was assisted by the Iowa Great Lakes Drug Task Force, the Arnolds Park, Okoboji and Spirit Lake Police Departments, Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office, the Iowa State Patrol and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation.
