Search Of Graettinger Apartment Turns Up Crystal Meth; Sawed-off Shotgun

November 23, 2014

(Graettinger)– The search of a Graettinger residence Thursday turned up what’s alleged to be a significant amount of crystal methamphetamine.

The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office says the warrant was executed around 2:00 p.m. at 306 North Van Gordon apartment number five.

Authorities say the search turned up over seven grams of what’s alleged to be crystal meth, a sawed-off shotgun, equipment used to manufacture marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.

50-year-old Curtis Bahr of Graettinger was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver; two counts of drug tax stamp violations; manufacturing marijuana; possession of an illegal offensive weapon; keeping a dwelling for use, possession or distribution of controlled substances; and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Bahr was booked into the Palo Alto county jail pending an initial court appearance.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted in executing the warrant by the Multi Agency Respons Team, a specially trained tactical response team comprised of officers from the Emmetsburg and Okoboji Police Departments, deputies from the Emmet and Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Offices and officials from the Emmet and Palo Alto County Conservation Boards, along with paramedics from Palo Alto County Hospital.

Officials say the investigation is ongoing.
