(Wahpeton)– The search for a 12-year-old Estherville boy missing since October 23rd when a dock barge he was working on sank in West Lake Okoboji has transitioned to a ground-only search.
Collin Helmers was on board the barge, along with 31-year-old Mathew Molacek of Wallingford, when it became inoperable and sank off of Gull Point.
Dickinson County Sheriff Greg Baloun says the search is now being concentrated on the shoreline.
Gene Ralston of Ralston and Associates, an Idaho firm that specializes in side scan sonar searches, left the lakes area earlier this week after having been here more than a week.
