(Arnolds Park)– The search continues in Arnolds Park for a leaking sewer.
A very small amount of wastewater has been seeping through an expansion joint on Highway 71 near Ackley Street for a week now. Yesterday, crews removed a panel of pavement from the highway to try to locate the leak. But City Administrator Ron Walker says it was to no avail. He says more digging will be done today when they’ll remove a panel from the middle of the highway. Motorists in that area are advised to drive carefully. Lane closures are in effect.
So far, D-N-R officials say there has been no contamination of either East or West Lake Okoboji from the leak.
