(Arnolds Park)– Ever want to be in a movie? Here’s your chance! A St. Paul, Minnesota company will be shooting scenes in the Iowa Great Lakes Area later this month. Patrick Nelson is with Bee Sting Entertainment of St. Paul, which is producing the film titled “The People’s Movie”. He says it’s based on a screenplay titled “Arnolds Park”. He describes it as a mystery-romance with a young social outcast who’s witnessed a murder which he didn’t convict, but is convicted of the crime having been present at the scene of the crime. After serving a prison term the young man returns to the town to try to find the real perpetrator.
Nelson says they’re looking for about a hundred people in the lakes area that would be willing to serve as extras for the movie. A meet and greet will be held this Saturday and Sunday (Aug. 20th and 21st) for anyone interested. The meet and greet Saturday will be held from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from Noon until 4:00 p.m. You’ll need to bring a current, non-returnable picture with you along with identification.
Nelson says crews will be back in the lakes area to actually do some filming Monday, August 29th through Thursday, September 1st. That’s when the extras will be needed. He says the shooting will be done in the Arnolds Park Amusement Park and just outside of the park.
Nelson says they hope to have the movie ready for distribution in February or March of 2006.
