Rural Lake Park House Damaged By Weekend Fire

November 23, 2014

(Lake Park)– A house about three miles south of Lake Park has been heavily damaged in a weekend fire.

The house, at 1825 130th Avenue, is owned by Shane Calvin.

The Lake Park Fire Department was called to the scene around 11:00 a.m. Sunday. Upon arrival, Fire Chief Kurt Anderson says the north side of the structure was heavily involved in the blaze.

An investigation by the State Fire Marshal determined the probable cause was an extension cord that failed in a bathroom on the north side of the house.

No injuries were reported.
