(Spencer)– The U-S Department of Agriculture has awarded Clay county a sizable loan to assist with rural development.
Senator Tom Harkin announced Tuesday the USDA has awarded Clay county 2.79 million dollars in loans for rural development projects.
The loans will be used to add 284 users to the Clay Regional Water District, to help finance water studies and system improvements, and complete ongoing construction within the district.
The funds will be given through the USDA’s Water and Waste Disposal Direct Loan and Grant Program.
