(Spirit Lake)– No injuries were reported in a fluke accident Thursday in Spirit Lake.
Police say a 1987 Chevrolet pickup parked in the Pizza Ranch parking lot rolled out of the lot northbound…crossing highways 9 and 71. It came to rest after striking a fence at Lakeview Cemetary.
No one was in the pickup at the time, owned by Terry Morfitt of Spencer.
A dollar estimate of damage to the pickup and fence wasn’t available.
The mishap took place around 2:45 p.m.
Police say it’s a wonder traffic passing by on the highway didn’t collide with the runaway pickup.
