Rollover Accident Near Lake Park Injures Two People

November 23, 2014

(Lake Park)– An investigation continues into an accident Wednesday night east of Lake Park.

The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office says 20-year-old Kearstin Ferguson of Worthington, Minnesota lost control of a 2001 Ford Escape as she was eastbound on 140th Street about three and-a-half miles east of Lake Park. The vehicle left the road, went into the ditch, rolled and hit a utility pole owned by Cornbelt Power Cooperative.

Ferguson and a passenger, Tara Krueger of Allendorf, were taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare. Krueger’s arm had been pinned under the vehicle.

The mishap took place around 11:00 p.m. Officers weren’t notified of it until shortly after 4:00 a.m. this (Thurs.) morning when Ferguson was finally able to walk to a farmhouse and called authorities.

17-thousand dollars in damage was estimated to the vehicle Ferguson was driving.

Authorities say the mishap remains under investigation.
