(Spirit Lake)– A Spirit Lake man has been charged in connection with an alleged incident early Sunday.
Police say 33-year-old Michael D. Koontz was charged with one count of robbery in the first degree. Koontz allegedly struck 21-year-old Justin W. Koedman of Doon in the head, neck and shoulders with an object. Koontz is also accused of taking Koedman’s billfold.
Koedman was taken by ambulance to Dickinson County Memorial Hospital where he was treated and released.
The alleged incident took place around 3:30 a.m. Sunday in the 200 block of Lakeshore Drive in Arnolds Park.
The Arnolds Park Police Department was assisted by the Milford, Spirit Lake and Okoboji Police Departments, Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office, Arnolds Park Fire and Rescue and Dickinson County Ambulance.
