Right-Of-Way Obstructions Causing Problems In Dickinson County

November 23, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– If you live along a Dickinson county road and have a vehicle, boat hoist, trailer or any other item parked in the right-of-way, you’d better move it or face getting a ticket.

Dickinson County Engineer Dan Eckert is reminding residents of an ordinance that up until now was seldomly enforced…especially in the summer. It bans any obstructions from rights-of-way.

Eckert says they’ve been seeing more and more violations of the ordinance recently and it’s starting to cause some safety concerns. He says you could be held personally liable if you have something parked in the right-of-way and there’s an accident.
