(Spencer)– A ribbon cutting ceremony was held today (Tues.) for a recently completed speculative building in the Spencer Technical Park.
Steve Grell, President of Spencer Industries Foundation, says financing for the new building came from his organization along with Iowa Lakes Electric Cooperative and Corn Belt Power Cooperative.
Grell says having such a facility available gives the area a foot-in-the-door when it comes to luring a prospective industry.
Chad Shryock of the Iowa Great Lakes Corridor of Opportunity says they’re actively marketing the building to about 2,500 potential prospects in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, South Dakota and Nebraska.
The 20,250-square foot building in located on a two-point-nine acre lot in the southern portion of the Spencer Technical Park.
