Ribbon Cutting Held For New ILCC Wind Turbine

November 22, 2014

(Estherville)– A ribbon cutting was held Tuesday on the new two million dollar wind turbine at Iowa Lakes Community College in Estherville.

The 230-foot tall structure was put up in early February and went into operation February 14th.

College President Mike Hupfer thanked the Department of Education, congressional representatives and faculty and staff for making the project possible.

The turbine plays a critical role in ILCC’s Wind Energy and Turbine Technology Program, which started last fall. 13 students are enrolled in it.
