(Arnolds Park)– We should know next month the results of a study into the feasibility of starting up a municipal telecommunications utility in the Iowa Great Lakes Area.
Arnolds Park City Administrator Ron Walker represents that city on the “Opportunity is Calling Committee”. The group consists of representatives from various cities whose voters overwhelmingly approved a referendum several years ago authorizing the study.
Walker says the committee will meet October 20th with officials from Black and Veitch, the firm that conducted the study. Following that, Walker says individual representatives will go back to their respective city councils to see where they want to go from there.
The feasibility study was conducted this past summer.
