Record-Breaking Warmth Envelopes The Region

November 23, 2014

(Undated)– It feels more like summer than spring in northwest Iowa.

The National Weather Service is predicting another day of record breaking high temperatures for the region, with readings expected to approach 90 degrees today (Monday).

Sunday’s high of 82 degrees in Spirit Lake set a new record for the date.

The normal high for this date is 57 degrees.

It was just one week ago today (Monday) the area was hit by nine inches of wet snow.

The National Weather Service says a drastic cool down is in store for the second half of the week, along with a good chance of badly needed rain.
