Progress Continues On Rural Water Expansion Project

November 23, 2014

(Superior)– The skyline of Superior has a new feature. It’s a 300-thousand gallon water tower.

Dale Brigham of Clay Regional Water says the tower was built as part of a project to extend rural water to eastern Dickinson and western Emmet counties. Brigham says crews continue to lay pipe along Highway nine and should reach the Estherville area within the next couple of weeks. Trenching and tiling crews are working in Superior and Richland townships putting in service lines. Brigham can’t guarantee though that all service lines will be hooked up yet this fall. He says about 220 people in that area have signed up for water service.

Once they’re done with that project, Brigham says crews will move on to others, including waste water projects in Gruver, Ayrshire, Greenville and the Loon Lake area; and to extend water to Buena Vista and Palo Alto counties.
