Progress Continues On Milford’s Downtown Improvement Project

November 23, 2014

(Milford)– Work continues on Milford’s downtown improvement project.

City Adminstrator Brian Reed says most of the utility work on the east side of Okoboji Avenue is complete; and that light pole bases and conduit should be installed this week. Once that’s done, sidewalk will be replaced. At that point, Reed says the focus will shift to the west side of Okoboji Avenue. He estimates that will probably be in early October.

The project has a November 1st completion date.

Traffic on Okoboji Avenue, or Highway 71, remains two-lanes through downtown Milford. And no parking is being allowed on either side of the street through the construction site.

Businesses are still open and parking is still available on side streets and behind some businesses.
